Sanity check - LACP on HP 5406zl, 10GbE ports

Hi Anyone doing LACP on the HP 8-port 10GBASE-T v2 zl Module (J9546A), in a 5406zl? Any gotchas? HP docs suggest it's fine. I'll not be doing anything fancy (distributed) yet, just doubling up to some workstations and storage. TIA. -- Pete Smith DevOp/System Administrator Realise Studio 12/13 Poland Street, London W1F 8QB T. +44 (0)20 7165 9644 realisestudio.com To unsubscribe from the list send a blank e-mail to mailto:studiosysadmins-discuss-request@studiosysadmins.com?subject=unsubscribe

Re: Sanity check - LACP on HP 5406zl, 10GbE ports
I've used the procurve line quite a bit,  the LACP on the modules for the zl's work fine,  i had aggergates to various vendors without issue,  cisco,  extreme, and foundry and various OS's and storage vendors.    Not so much a problem for the v2 modules but the v1's over subscribed the ports on the modules.  you could only introduce 24.4 gigs of data onto the back plane from the 4 10 gig ports.   That isn't the case in the v2's,  but i'm not sure for the 8 port modules,  I've not used those yet.  I recall someone saying its all one to one,  but that was before the introduction of the 8 port options.

It works fine for us. We have 2 of the 5412z.

Just make sure you do not have it connected while you are doing the configuration.

Connected should be ok.  You might not want the end point enabled/ configured tho.  At least this hasn't been an issue for me thus far.
