haha so cool.. I read the first word of your email and thought "this is old news" but clicked on the link anyway... I was reading it and seen "studio sysadmins" and went "wow cool, gotta spread the word!", but i see you seen it. 8) that is so cool that we got a mention. you better get that server off that ghetto connection and onto something in a proper data center... -g On Sep 28, 2009, at 2:41 PM, John Hickson wrote: Came across this today? http://blog.backblaze.com/2009/09/25/fallout-of-the-backblaze-storage-pod-post/ StudioSysAdmins even got a mention in the article ? near the bottom :) -John From: studiosysadmins-discuss-bounces@studiosysadmins.comstudiosysadmins-discuss-bounces@studiosysadmins.com [mailto:studiosysadmins-discuss-bounces@studiosysadmins.com] On Behalf Of Daniel Roizman Sent: September 4, 2009 11:45 PM To: studiosysadmins-discuss Subject: Blackblaze project Seems like Blackblaze has caused quite a buzz around here and with the costs so low, anyone interested in joining up to get a system running? Maybe we could get a couple of teams going in different cities and share the results and configurations. Top team gets a loaf of bread, the meat of their choice and some fancy mustard. All this cheap commodity hardware coupled with blogs and listserves like this make for a pretty formidable challenge to the norm. -D StudioSysAdmins-Discuss mailing list StudioSysAdmins-Discuss@studiosysadmins.comStudioSysAdmins-Discuss@studiosysadmins.com http://mailman.studiosysadmins.com/mailman/listinfo/studiosysadmins-discuss |
