For those in Linux, just to tack on to the discussions, which Desktop Environment are you using and why? I can say we are using Gnome because it is the default, been at places they use KDE because it is more like Windows.

On our SUSE11 builds we are using GNOME as well.. I tried the new KDE4 and was having a lot of issues (machines kept locking up for minutes for no apparent reason) - maybe too new - didn't try any patches... GNOME seems to work well for everything I am using at the moment...

We used KDE at the last place I worked and we didn't have many issues, but that was a more stable version...
