Re: Offline storage server

I'm in the same boat, looking for a backup/archival server with high capacity Running CentOS Linux or OpenSUSE

Seeking Physical : max 6U, 24 drive in Raid 6 conifg, Networking : 2 x GBit in Ethernet Bond ? 2 trunked ports on switch

Came across this Supermicro model that looked promising: http://www.supermicro.com/products/chassis/4U/848/SC848A-R1800.cfm

Anyone have experience with these that cares to provide feedback?

Cheers,

Jake

Yup that is why I am asking, who do you recommend in the LA area for building cheap offline servers? I'd like something a little better than the Backblaze pod though, maybe a RAID 6 24 port card with 2T SATA drives. I've had Servers Direct build something similar before and they are actually pretty good but was wondering if anyone here had other recommendations for vendors.
