Lads, has anyone had any experience in running multiple instances of Alfred up for queue?managment against 2 discrete HPC renderwall locations?
We are currently exploring the feasibility or partitioning and allocating render jobs internally within a clients LAN, whilst simultaneously running an instance of the same or slightly modified Alfred instance on a remote renderwall connected via dedicated fiber connectivity and minimum 100MB dedicated internet connection. Remote jobs dependencies and file structure are sync'd to the remote renderwall and storage pool, with the aim that the remote Alfred instance reporting back to the host instance of what jobs it is progressing with. The remote instance contains both nodes and storage and the relevant file directory structure of the "local production instance".
My questions are 1. Is it possible to run and sync two Alfred instances and therefore their queue?scheduler logs 2. Is multi site support something that has been succesfully implemented by anyone on the list? If so would you mind contacting me directly. 3. Does Pixars new Tractor application support multi site HPC environments?? Any assistance greatly appreciated. |
