We just setup a Scale Computing NAS. They came and performed the setup
themselves and provide remote assistance at an affordable rate. I
haven't migrated all the data to this yet and released into production
but so far so good.
Thanks,
Alex

As a small shop in NYC, we've had nothing but success with
Dell's PowerEdge line. Very hard to beat Dell on price and the support
has been good as well.

all, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a small NAS
system for a small/medium sized studio out of london. Need around 4-6
TB of storage, and should be able to handle 6 After Effects artists and
6 Maya plus a handful of general office users. I don't need serious
speed, but storage expandability would be nice. One thing I'm
specifically looking for is a vendor that has UK contact and support.
I've seen some of the smaller builders like Aberdeen but am worried
about how they will perform/support devices in the UK.
Obviously I've looked at Dell and HP, but beyond those two I'm
not sure where to look next. Isilon/bluearc etc are out of the price
range (and frankly the small scope of the operation imo) HP doesn't
even sell their lower/mid end NAS models directly, you have to go
through a 3rd party vendor...would like to avoid that if possible. I'm
comfortable with linux or windows.
Thanks
