We have 5 RenderBoxx's per 20 amp circuit. Keep in mind, 5 RenderBoxx's = 10 machines (2 machines per RenderBoxx for a total of 80 cores).
Right before we purchased the nodes, Boxx started using the more efficient Intel procs which dropped their energy requirements and BTU ratings to about half of what they previously were. ? We currently have 150 RenderBoxx render nodes. I would say that the comments about there being better price/performance are true. That being said, we got them because, at the time, nothing was beating them on density. We were cramming 640 cores into a standard rack (which included some horizontal cable managers and switches). ILO management is done via the SuperMicro software. I can see every node from one screen with the normal remote KVM and power features. I've had about 4 hard drives go south on me (in an 18 month cycle). good bang for the buck, I don't know if you would find much cheaper for what you get, unless you were getting parts off the back of a boat in the harbor here in Vancouver
