Hey Saham,

In regards to products like Avere. All of the large vendors are implementing systems like this inline with their products either right now or later this year.

In regards to Isilon with their software upgrade. Never buy the cow before seeing the milk. Personally I would never buy a product based on the fact that their will in the future be a release that brings the product up to speed. I think it would be amazing if they were able to double their node speeds with a software upgrade alone.

In regards to jumbo frames to the desktop I think its still a point of debate whether it necessary. Jumbo frames are really only necessary if your cpu can't handle the overhead of processing the frames. The Bluearc doesn't have this problem because its not cpu based technology so jumbo frames aren't a necessity.

In regards to budget I think you could do well with either Isilon or Bluearc with that kind of budget.
