Agree with the Postini comment, BUT it is good for archival of email (for compliance reasons).
We've been using Google Apps for some time now at Amalgamated Pixels. It's great. I was running a hand-rolled QMail+VPopmail+SpamAssassin server for many years. It was great until the Spam/Virus/Zombie mail count hit 20K a day. Google's Spam filtering is AMAZING. On Wed, Jul 14, 2010 at 5:13 AM, Paul Nendick <paul.nendick@baseblack.com> wrote:
The Contacts application in Google Apps ain't great but it's also not as bad as it's made out to be. Try it. If it doesn't work out just plug in a better one from the Google Apps Marketplace, i.e.:
Also, consider weaning people off their desktop email clients. The web interfaces are absolutely stellar when used in HTML5 capable browsers.
Finally, don't bother with the Postini services. They seriously underwhelm.

Thanks for the feed back everyone! We are planning on using google premiere and have pretty much

to stick to setting up thunderbird with Zindus. ? ? +CURTIS

standard for upto 50 mailboxes at no charge. You get 7.5GB of mail and 1GB of
docs. After that you need to go to premiere which is $US50 per mailbox per
year. You get a 25GB mailbox and 1GB for docs. If you want to add extensive auditing
and control you need to get a Postini subscription (it's like Message
Labs)? which costs more on top of that per user. Premiere gives you basic
Postini features If you go with a Google Enterprise Partner they can offer
discounts (eg. Fronde in NZ). DRD runs entirely on Premier - we have around 220
users integrating OS-X, Lin, Win, iPhone, iPad with a myriad of clients -
Thunderbird, Macmail, Outlook etc.

Back to the address book thing - don't have any experience with address books
on OSX but googling yielded:

I've so far managed to cover everything except for setting up the address book
on snow leopard to list the different address books separately(It seems that it
cannot read the different labels and lumps them all together when it grabs them
from the google server).
Anyone here have any experience with this at all?
The closest I could find was to go with thunderbird and install a addon called
Zindus, to get different address book groups happening.
