Technicolor is looking for a Data Operator within our Data Department.

The postion currently is for a permanent  based person in  London to help with the daily Data and Systems Administration of the Digital Intermediate facility.

Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, maintain and support tape backup, firewire drive ingest onto SAN storage
• Establish and maintain network directories for operational personnel to locate, storage data/ftp digidelivery smartjog etc
• Generate technical documentation that will be useful to those who follow in similar positions, This may include opening and configuring system preferences and settings, and viewing media files for quality and metadata properties.
• Maintain communication with technical support departments of vendors to resolve problems and feature requests.
• Develop and maintain workflows with other departments. Maintain a working knowledge of hardware and software including but not limited to Avid, Apple, HP and Autodesk.

Also awareness/knowledge: NFS and Networking, Python/Perl scripting commmand line knowledge.

Capacity planning Backup and Archival of SAN, Tier Storage Concepts and Computer Graphics Rendering.
