Technical Director

 Our client is seeking a Technical Director to join their Animation Division and work on an exciting new animation TV series.

The Technical Director would be responsible for developing, maintaining and documenting internal software applications and processes used for media production. This would primarily involve coding interfaces using existing application programming interfaces (api’s) and creating systems to support artist’s workflows, asset management and production tracking. Reporting to the Director of Technology and Animation Supervisor.

Experience with Systems Analysis, Design Patterns, Object Oriented Design using C++ and Python is required. Past experience working with API’s in a business or production environment preferred. Experience working in media (Web design, TV, Film, etc.) preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate would be a fast learner and be able to understand systems and find innovative ways to code around technical problems within a creative environment.

Requirements:
• 1+ years experience scripting with python
• 2+ years experience programming with c++
• 3+ years work experience or full time education (e.g. comp sci degree or 3 years work exp)
• 1+ years working as part of a team developing a software application
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent documentation and code commenting/formatting practices
• Ability to deliver results in a timely fashion
• Passion of excellence

Strongly Preferred Experience:
• 1+ years working in a media production environment (game/tv/web design/film)

Preferred experience:
• Experience with Autodesk Maya Api
• Experience with Qt gui toolkit/api
