Soho VFX is currently looking for a well-organized individual to join our ranks. 

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Information Technology to:

- Maintain an inventory of digital assets as well as hardware and software licenses.

- Assist in the daily operation of the studio workstations and renderfarm.

- Troubleshoot and diagnose workstation problems and help users reach solutions that fit their needs.

- Manage the installation and imaging of desktop hardware and software.

- Assist the Head of Information Technology in maintaining the studio.

Required Knowledge:

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.

- Well-rounded understanding of networking concepts.

- Intimate knowledge of Linux / Mac OSX (Unix).

- Knowledge of the use of the following on Mac OSX and Linux:

• LDAP based authentication systems.
• DNS and DHCP under Linux.
• NFS protocol
• Apache/MySQL/PHP servers configuration.
• Shell scripting in Perl/Bash/Tcsh.
•  

- Coding HTML/PHP/MySQL is a definite asset.

This position is well suited for an individual who is self-motivated and

can work independently in a fast paced environment.

The successful applicant must be well versed in Mac OSX and Linux paradigms.
